Rental Recommendations? Seeking a Queue From You

I'm about to have a good deal of time on my hands, spending 3-4 weeks at home while recovering from surgery on Wednesday.

Right now my Netflix queue varies from guilty pleasure comedies to slow indies to sci-fi thrillers, and I would love your thoughts about the following, as well as additional suggestions:
  • Across the Universe
  • Baby Mama
  • Be Kind Rewind
  • Becoming Jane
  • The Boondock Saints
  • Definitely, Maybe
  • The Diving Bell & the Butterfly
  • Eagle vs. Shark
  • Finding Amanda
  • Get Smart
  • The Good German
  • Grindhouse: Death Proof
  • Grindhouse: Planet Terror
  • Hancock
  • The Happening
  • The Hoax
  • I Am Legend
  • In Bruges
  • The Incredible Hulk
  • The Kingdom
  • Lady in the Water
  • Leatherheads
  • Lions for Lambs
  • Lost Highway
  • National Treasure: Book of Secrets
  • P.S. I Love You
  • Pan's Labryinth
  • Paris, Je T'aime
  • Paycheck
  • Reservation Road
  • The Savages
  • Saving Face
  • Seconds
  • Smart People
  • Snow Angels
  • Stardust
  • Sunshine
  • Things We Lost in the Fire
  • Tropic Thunder
  • The Visitor
  • Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story
  • Wall E
  • We Own the Night
Obviously I won't have time to watch them all, but I do love the variety.

Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Any thoughts of going "old school"? "It Happened One Night" is from 1939 and so outdated, but for some reason, its one of my favorites.

The best thing that I've seen on that list is In Bruges. Everyone should watch In Bruges. Pan's Labyrinth would be my second rec. The worst thing is The Good German. Read the book, it is much, much better than the movie.

I should have my dad take a peek at these - he sees every movie when it comes out - EVERYONE - that's what retirement gets you. Anyways, I know he would HIGHLY recommend In Bruges. I see hardly any movies whether rentals or on the big screen, but my whole family really enjoyed Stardust and I would recommend that.

From this list, I would recommend I Am Legend, The Incredible Hulk, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Pan's Labyrinth, Sunshine, and Wall-E. Though several of those are flawed, they're all worth seeing at least once.

The only other two from the list that I've seen but would not recommend are Leatherheads and Stardust. Leatherheads had potential, but it's a bit boring, the pacing is off especially near the end, and Renee Zellweger seems mis-cast. It's hard to pinpoint the problems, but Startdust was just too weird, even for a fantasy movie.

    Other recommendations:
    - Juno
    - Charlie Wilson's War
    - The Bucket List
    - Ocean's Thirteen
    - Waitress

      Thanks, Todd!

I have seen Juno, Charlie Wilson's War, Ocean's Thirteen and Waitress, but not The Bucket List. Still undecided about renting that one.

Pan's Labyrinth is a must watch, might as well watch the Orpahanage too for a little fright.

You'll like Smart People, the movie I mean. Dialogue heavy like the Middleman, but since Middleman is good, it should carry over.

Walk Hard is ok, a stupid comedy, but if you know that going in, it's fun. Plus Pam is in it.

We Own the Night is a good one - who knows, it may be one of Mr. Phoenix's last films. Plus Wahlberg is in it and he told me to say hi to your mom. (Hopefully you watch SNL, otherwise that makes no sense.)

Commenting on your Netflix movie que. Since we agree on movies and all...

Don't watch Definitely maybe. NOT GOOD. A Ryan Reynolds movie that is: Chaos Theory.

and i second IN BRUGES, that movie's really good.
